Psst, wanna buy a SPOT watch?
We caught this display of upcoming MSN Direct SPOT watches from Fossil at CES, and what struck us most wasn't the variety of the products, but the fact that they were stacked in the kind of box we're more accustomed to seeing perched on a mailbox on Canal Street. Hey, if Fossil's selling them at copy-watch prices, we'll take a couple. If they throw in the MSN Direct sub, too.

Useless until the coverage area is better and the screens are in color. Like the idea though.

Those shown in the pics don't do much for me, but it is nice to see Fossil break out some new designs. I just purchased mine I and really enjoy it. For what the watch is designed to do it has worked quite nicely. I ditched a Sony Clie in favor of the watch.

They don't do colour screens because you'd have to charge it every day. I have the Suunto Spot watch and it's great. I like the news alerts, scores and weather. And the connection to my calendar has saved me a few times when I've forgotten a meeting.

These things are useless without a leap in radio tech to significantly reduce power consumption, and the use of e-ink instead of LCD.
As they stand now, you got to cradle the thing weekly (or more) to charge it.
I don't care what the thing does, I got a watch right now that I only have to change the batteries every five years.

Email on a watch is the most rediculous idea i've ever seen. It's bad enuff us american's loose out on smartphone develpoment but to subject us to this piece of marketing trash is too much. How can any of you guys who like this defend it. How old are,12.

I just called a friend of mine who works at Fossil and she said that they were out of this game and just trying to use up modules. Fossil's tech group consists of two people, so how much do you think they care about this? Fossil earned almost a billion dollars last year - how much of that do you think their tech division accounted for?
It wouldnt surprise me if this was just a M$ watchwith a Fossil name on it.
Has anyone seen any Suunto orSwatch versions lately? And you wont either...ditch this useless technology.

Fossil's tech group consists of two people, so how much do you think they care about this?
